We have a number of Guest Relations areas at the Alaska SeaLife Center, please review the descriptions below to see which you may be interested in.
Science Interpretation - You don’t need a second language to be an interpreter! Science Interpretation utilizes mission-based communication techniques to connect aquarium visitors to the animals and science projects they interact with here at the aquarium. Stationed throughout the building, interpreters stay up-to-date on the latest aquarium news from all of the departments and interact with guests on a daily basis. In the summer, opportunities may be available to provide behind-the-scenes tours. Training will be provided.
Marketing, Sales and Events - As a volunteer you would provide support for sales and guest services functions, including ticketing, data entry, direct mail project, cafe, special events/facility rentals, and assist with community interface. Regular and event-specific opportunities available.
Administration - Several times a year we need help with administrative tasks which may include answering phones, staffing events, data entry, inventories, filing, photocopying, shredding papers, and participation in special administrative projects, such as mass mailings or document compilation/editing.
